The 1 oz US Gold Eagle was first produced in 1986 and is the United State's official gold bullion coin. The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens iconic Lady Liberty image. Each coin has a gold purity of 0.9167, a $50 dollar face value and a net weight of 1 oz fine gold. Because of its purity, these coins are subject to 5% GST in Canada. (VCS)
